Councilwoman Deborah Sarcone

A resident of Evesham Township for nineteen years, Councilwoman Debbie Sarcone was elected to Council in May 2005, and served as Deputy Mayor from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007.  A licensed cosmetologist in two States, Mrs. Sarcone retired from her occupation to spend more time helping her husband of twenty-two years, Lou, who is the co-owner of Sarcone’s Deli Franchises, along with the family business, “ L.Sarcone and Son Bakery” in South Philadelphia.  She is also pursuing a degree in Public Relations at Camden County College.  Debbie and Lou have two children: Louis III, a fifth generation family member who works in the business; and Amber, a sophomore at Cherokee High School.Prior to becoming a Councilwoman, Mrs. Sarcone was actively involved in many local and charitable organizations.  She is a past Chairwoman of the Marlton Recreation Advisory Committee; devotes a significant amount of time as a member of  Project Graduation; has been involved with both the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the City of Hope; and gives of her time freely to a number of other charities and community organizations.  In the late 1990’s, Mrs. Sarcone organized “Friends for the Preservation of Marlton” and lead the fight against a new multi-screen cinema proposed for  the area adjacent to her Carrefour neighborhood. She has been an MRC coach, and a former treasurer of the Marlton Civic Association.   In both her private and public life, Mrs. Sarcone has been actively involved in advancing the interests of the residents of Evesham Township, has been a dedicated supporter of recreation programs, and has also assisted local businesses in working to ensure their success and continued operation in Evesham Township.
