Regular Trash Collection Schedule 2013

Please Do....

1. Continue to use plastic bags, especially for food waste. This will help keep the container clean and odor-free.

2. Simply roll the cart out on collection day, and place the can at the bottom of the driveway in the same spot your container was delivered. Make sure the arrow points toward the street as directed on the lid.

3. Make sure the container is clear of mailboxes, poles, parked cars or any other obstructions.

Please Don't....

Don't place any of the following materials in the container:

  • No recyclables
  • No bulk waste (see below for bulk collection dates)
  • No brush
  • No household hazardous materials
  • No flammables, paints or thinners
  • No remodeling or construction debris
  • No hot ashes
  • No metal pieces or items
  • No Computers/TVs

Hazardous Household Waste
(may be dropped off at DPW on the first Saturday each Month, unless it is a holiday)

1. Hazardous materials include paint, paint thinner, florescent light bulbs, car batteries, lithium batteries, rechargeable batteries, toxic chemicals, aerosols, thermostats, oil and fuel.

2. Pressure treated wood contains hazardous chemicals. State law prohibits it being collected with bulk trash. Residents may bring pressure treated wood to the public yard during regular business hours. There is a designated area, in the yard, for its disposal.

3. It is no longer necessary to recycle regular A, AA, C and D batteries. Manufacturers have been mandated to reduce the level of mercury in them and they may be thrown away in your regular trash now.

AN IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS CONCERNING BULK TRASH COLLECTION

In an effort to improve efficiency, the Public Works Department will begin collecting bulk trash on a quarterly basis beginning in January 2012. Residents may place bulk trash items at the curb for pick-up on their first trash collection day in the months of January, April, July and October. Residents may bring bulk trash to the Public Works facility located at 501 Evesboro-Medford Road, Marlton New Jersey, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM and on Saturdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM. The following guidelines are to be followed with regards to bulk trash:

  • Bulk trash is defined as any item of refuse that is too large to fit into a normal refuse container and which cannot be recycled.
  • Debris items such as carpet and lumber must be cut into 4-foot lengths, bundled and tied.
  • Bundles cannot exceed 40 pounds.
  • Residents are asked to place bulk items at the curb away from the regular refuse containers and any other obstacle.
  • Pressure treated wood, televisions and computer monitors, along with household paint and used motor oil, are all considered hazardous waste and cannot be placed curb side for bulk trash collection.
